Bike storage?
I have a road bike that i am going to store away for a couple months because its winter. Whats the best way to store a bike without taking up much space? I think i might hang it with one of those hooks that clips on to the front tire. I don't have much space to work with so it needs to stay simple. Any suggestions are appreciated.

- get your tools and dismantle the bike. place all the parts under your bed.
- That's fine. I hang mine from the front wheel with a rubber coated hook - it works just fine. Don't let anyone tell you that it will warp the wheel etc. that's a load of doo. If your wheel can't withstand a static weight of 15 to 30 lbs, it can't handle you riding it either. I've done this for decades without a problem.
- Best storage for bike is to hang it and still better if is out of the way , so nobody tampering with it . I hanging my 4 expensive well maintained bikes over winter in balcony because of roof design - (there is no rain at all) - for years with good result , Another reason is because my condo is small . Before I hang it and lock it I do spray delicate parts with silicon lubricant to ad some antirust protection ( after winter you just wipe it off ) , I also use some pipe foam insulation tubes for frame just in case , each bike have own plastic cover , so no moinsture in wet days reach the bikes . For bike is better if you hang it at two points if upside down to split the weight betwen rear and front wheels because some racing rims is fragile . My friend store his $ 6 000 road bike over the winter in Thule bicycle traveling box . Some cyclist install the wall hanger designed for bicycle ......... to many options to store bike for everybody .
- The most important thing it to store it indoors if you can. Hang it or buy one of those gravity racks.
