Ceiling Bike Lift

What bike for a 9 mile hilly commute and no storage space?

I absolutely cannot store a bike inside unless it's a folder. If it's a full size, it has to be crappy enough to deserve being left out in the weather, but good enough to rely on every day.

  1. What a dilemma. Bikes left exposed to the elements for any period of time will begin to rust and not function as well. Then you will not enjoy your ride and the bike really will be "crappy." Get a low-end bike shop quality bike, lock it up to something semi-permanent like a fence or post, and cover it with a weather resistant tarp. Then cinch the tarp down with bungee cords or the like. For your commute you want a good, reliable ride. Buy a reliable bike and keep it that way with regular maintenance.
